I discovered my passion for crocheting several years ago, after giving birth to my third son, and recognized almost instantly the wave of calm it brought me. It was my in-house therapy! Joy ensued after I finished my first baby blanket, which led me to leave my comfort zone and try my hand at full-on layette sets, unintentionally going on a yarn frenzy! I remember the birth of my first child, and I was absolutely blown away when the nurses in the maternity ward dropped off a surprise bag. Inside was a hand-crocheted baby blanket. Unsure where it came from, I curiously asked, and their response was, "We have a group of older ladies who make these gifts in their spare time and want us to gift them to new mommies." What a beautiful effect it had on my heart, and that's why The Yarn Stork gives back to those same expectant mothers. I hope these gifts will uplift mommies around the world.
